Railway Zones In India

Indian railway is divided into zones then the zones are further divided into divisions. In India there are 16 zones have, each zone has one headquarters. And there are 69 divisions have. In these 16 zones Northern zone is the largest railway zone in India. The headquarters of Indian Railway is situated in New Delhi.

The Railway Zones in India are,

Central Railway:

The headquarters of Central Railway is Mumbai. There are five divisions have under this they are Mumbai, Nagpur, Bhusawal, Pune, Sholapur.

Eastern Railway:

The headquarters of Eastern Railway is Kolkata. There are seven divisions have under this they are Howrah-I, Howrah-II, Sealdah, Malda, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Kolkata Metro.

East Central Railway:

The headquarters of Eastern central Railway is Hajipur . There are five divisions have under this they are Danapur, Mugalsarai, Dhanbad, Sonpur, Samastipur.

East Coast Railway:

The headquarters of East Coast Railway is Bhubaneshwar. There are three divisions have under this they are Khurda Road, Waltair, Sambalpur.

Northern Railway:

The headquarters of Northern Railway is New Delhi. There are six divisions have under this they are Delhi-I, Delhi-II, Ambala, Moradabad, Lucknow, Firozpur.

North Central Railway:

The headquarters of North Central Railway is Allahabad. There are three divisions have under this they are Allahabad, Jhansi, Agra.

North Eastern Railway:

The headquarters of North Eastern Railway is Gorakhpur. There are four divisions have under this they are Izzatnagar, Lucknow, Varanasi, DLW.

North Frontier Railway:

The headquarters of North Frontier Railway is Guwahati. There are five divisions have under this they are Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, Lumding, Tinsukia.

North Western Railway:

The headquarters of North Western Railway is Jaipur. There are four divisions have under this they are Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer.

Southern Railway:

The headquarters of Southern Railway is Chennai. There are five divisions have under this they are Chennai, Madurai, Palghat, Trichy, Trivandrum.

South Central Railway:

The headquarters of South Central Railway is Secunderabad. There are five divisions have under this they are Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Guntakal, Vijayawada, Nanded.

South Eastern Railway:

The headquarters of South Eastern Railway is Kolkata. There are five divisions have under this they are Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur, Ranchi, Shalimar.

South East Central Railway:

The headquarters of South East Central Railway is Bilaspur. There are three divisions have under this they are Bilaspur, Nagpur, Raipur.

South Western Railway:

The headquarters of South Western Railway is Hubli. There are four divisions have under this they are Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli, RWF/YNK.

Western Railway:

The headquarters of Western Railway is Mumbai. There are six divisions have under this they are BCT, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Rajkot, Bhavnagar.

West Central Railway:

The headquarters of Western Central Railway is Jabalpur. There are three divisions have under this they are Jabalpur, Bhopal, Kota.
